We seek gifts under the leadership of Medcen Community
Health Foundation's officers, through the work of our Board
of Trustees, the development council, and staff. Often members
of other advisory or governance boards also become involved
with the Foundation's activities. Fundraising takes many
forms through our committees and Foundation activities:
Sustained Giving . . . comes from many loyal supporters
that make annual gifts to the foundation in support of our
many charitable programs. Gits of $100 or more qualify donors
for membership into the 1895 Society supporting hospital
projects, Hospice Partners supporting Pine Pointe
at Hospice of Central Georgia, and the Building Block
Society supporting our Children's Hospital.
Memorial and Honor Gifts . . . are an important
fundraising activity and a service to our donors. In addition
to acknowledging the gift to the donor, we send a note to
the family of the deceased for memorial gifts, or to the
person being honored. These gifts provide a meaningful and
helpful way to express concern for someone or appreciation
for a kindness or service. The amount of the gift is not
shared with the family or the honoree.
H.E.A.T . . . Healthcare Employees Achieving Tomorrow
is our employee giving program, which supports many hospital
projects and awards grants annually to healthcare-related
charities within our community. Known as on of the most
successful employee campaigns in the Southeast, H.E.A.T.'s
motto "I Give Back Because I Care" is a precise
reflection of its process.
Special Events . . . are composed of hundreds of
donors who give as volunteers, participants and sponsors
to special events throughout the year. Stars over Macon
Ball, Children's Miracle Network Broadcast and Radiothons,
and the Celebrity Classic are some of our most recognizable
happenings.
Business & Corporate Honor Roll . . . contributions
are solicited throughout the year through membership in
Medcen's Business & Corporate Honor Roll. Businesses
may join for $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000+. Pledges
may be spread over three to five years.
Callaway Society . . . Members of the Callaway Society
promote health, wellness, and hope to our patients with
a significant gift or pledge of $10,000 (Bronze Level),
$25,000 (Silver Level), or $50,000 (Gold Level). Pledges
may be spread over three to five years. Callaway gifts are
cumulative and permanently recognized on the donor wall
in the hospitals main lobby.
Signature Gifts . . . The cornerstone of a capital
campaign project or at any level of a development program
these gifts start at $50,000 and come with a naming opportunity
to honor or memorialize the family or corporate name.
Heritage Circle . . . Members of the Heritage Circle
are individuals who have remembered The Medical Center of
Central Georgia through a planned gift such as their will,
trust, life insurance policy, or by funding a life-income
gift such as a charitable gift annuity. These gifts are
important to the long-term funding of the Hospital and come
with many benefits to the donor and their heirs ensuring
the continuation of high quality care for generations to
come.
Olin H. Weaver Society . . . Physicians know first-hand
the value of outstanding healthcare for citizens of central
Georgia. The Olin H. Weaver Society recognizes physicians
for their outstanding leadership and philanthropic support.
Some of planned giving vehicles you may wish to consider:
- An outright Bequest in your will.
- A Charitable Gift Annuity which allows
you to receive fixed, guaranteed lifetime payments in
exchange for their gift of cash, securities or other property.
In addition to income benefits, there are significant
tax benefits.
- A life insurance policy with The Medical
Center as the beneficiary.
- The Home Value Program. For persons
seventy years of age or older who are house-rich and need
or want to increase their incomes, we offer no cost reverse
annuity mortgages and other innovative services that help
seniors take a large portion of the equity out of their
home in the form of monthly payments. Donors have life
tenure in their homes and share in any appreciation through
extended payments.
